The community uses YouTube data apis to gather information about you such as your most recently uploaded videos, your playlists, songs you like and songs you search for to share with other members of the community. When you share content on the site from youtube, we tell other members about your suggestion so they can discover the content you previously enjoyed. Users can opt out of receiving notifications so its possible some people will not be told about the suggestion your shared to a social playlist. We pull data from Youtube in regards to your playlists so you can share content back to your youtube playlists if you wish to enjoy the content again later on YouTube. Using Youtube data we also track the duration of the songs in the community and a play history of how much time users spend listening to individual suggestions. We use this data to calculate score for the songs and users alike in regards to the probability of someone else enjoying similar content making for high quality suggestions.
